What Maslow stores
Maslow keeps the data you create in the app: your layers, daily goals, check-ins, logged entries, and the day-by-day history of your pyramid. All of it lives in a database on your device.
iCloud sync
If you're signed in to iCloud, Maslow syncs its database to the private iCloud database tied to your Apple Account, using Apple's CloudKit. That keeps your pyramid backed up and in sync across your devices. This storage belongs to you: it is encrypted by Apple, and the developer has no access to it whatsoever — there is no server of mine involved, and no way for me to read, query, or export your data.
You can turn sync off at any time in iOS Settings by disabling iCloud for Maslow.
Apple Health
With your explicit permission, Maslow reads data from Apple Health — sleep, steps, workouts and active minutes, and mindful minutes — solely to fill the matching layers of your pyramid automatically. Maslow is read-only: it never writes to Apple Health, and your health data is never shared with, sold to, or made accessible to anyone, including the developer. Health data is never used for advertising or any purpose other than showing your own pyramid.
You can review or revoke Health access at any time in the Health app under Profile → Apps → Maslow, or in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health.
Notifications
Maslow can send optional evening reminders to check in. These are local notifications, scheduled entirely on your device — no notification server, no tokens, nothing leaves your phone.
Widgets
The home-screen and lock-screen widgets read a small snapshot of today's pyramid from a private container shared between the app and the widget, on your device only.
No tracking, no third parties
- No analytics or crash-reporting SDKs
- No advertising, ad identifiers, or fingerprinting
- No third-party code or services of any kind
- No account, sign-up, email, or personal details requested — ever
The only network traffic Maslow generates is Apple's own iCloud sync between your devices and your private iCloud storage.
Deleting your data
Deleting the app removes all Maslow data from your device. To also remove the iCloud copy, go to iOS Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage, select Maslow, and delete its data.
Children
Maslow is not directed at children, and — since it collects nothing — no personal information is ever gathered from anyone, of any age.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted on this page with an updated date. Since Maslow's design keeps all data with you, meaningful changes are unlikely.
